Manure-spreading at London city hall

CODE OF CONDUCT DEBATE: Recently, Councillor Cheryl Miller (pictured left) and Gord Hume whined that they played too rough @ city hall. Too many personal attacks, blah blah blah. This backbiting could discourage fresh blood from entering politics!

Now it's called good ol' fashioned "democracy." They always spread the manure on real thick, don't they?

What's driving Miller et al.'s whining is her group of dinosaurs no longer has the upper hand in terms of votes at city council. Miller's gang is in the minority after years of being in the majority. Cry me a river.

Banner year for the London International Airport

DESPITE TOUGH ECONOMINC TIMES, in Canada and the region of southwestern Ontario in 2009, the London International Airport passenger volumes increased by 6.5% in 2009.

This increase is a direct result of expanding to a regional market place, progression to larger aircraft and the introduction of new direct air services.

New in 2009 was Air Canada jet service to Calgary, Sunquest jet service to Montego Bay, Jamaica, WestJet direct jet service to Vancouver and the introduction of United Airlines jet service to Chicago.

Delta Airlines has also expanded their aircraft to an all jet service. The continued growth in air services, international flight training and emerging cargo opportunities will position the London International Airport to enhance the current annual economic contribution of $357 million to the region and 1700 direct jobs.
